Interleaved high-gain boost converter powered by solar energy using hybrid-based MPP tracking technique

Abstract This paper presents a solar-powered interleaved high-gain boost converter (IHGBC) that increases voltage gain with fewer ripples in the output comparison to existing DC–DC converters. The goal of this research is develop hybrid-based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) approach combination flower pollination (FP) algorithm assisted perturb & observe (P&O) MPPT for solar photovoltaic (SPV) systems integrated IHGBC. To ensure effective usage both FP and P&O algorithms, study incorporates validates approach. proposed IHGBC has been computationally modelled simulated using MATLAB® Simulink® uniform non-uniform irradiation analysed gain, waveforms convergence time. based on number flowers forecast initial global peak, by last stage faster attain (MPP). As result, alleviates computational issues encountered FP-based MPP approaches. hybrid compared conventional SPV results show technique negligible oscillations 0.14% high-voltage 7.992 fast rate 0.05 seconds individual P&O-based techniques. simulation outperform
